1. We have materials in various languages.

Children’s books and books written in your language are available!! At “Language/ Foreign Study Materials Section” (1F), materials in English, Korean, Chinese, Filipino, Indonesian, Thai, Spanish, Portuguese, and Vietnamese are available. Japanese language study materials are also available.
At “Audio Visual (AV) Section” (B1), you can watch videos and listen to cassette tapes, or CDs in Korean or Chinese in the library. Foreign movies with Japanese subtitle or music CDs are available at the AV Section (B1).

2. Use of library is free.

We welcome all visitors.

3. Personal information is strictly confidential.

○ You can review the checking-out status of materials with computers in the library, but it does not disclose borrower’s name.
○ Personal data (name, address, phone number) in the application form is stored in the librarian use computer. Only the library staff can operate the computer.
○ The computer system of the library does not link with other organizations, and so your personal information is strictly treated confidential.

《Checking Out Materials》

A “Library Card” is necessary for borrowing materials. Please show identification (driver’s license, student ID card, or foreign registration card) with your name and address on it.
Bring your library card and books, videos, or CDs you want to borrow to the circulation desk.
Please check out videos and cassette tapes at the AV section circulation desk (B1).
Users may borrow up to 8 books at a time for 15 days.
Most library materials may be renewed once for 2 weeks as long as there is no waiting list. Please contact our staff at the circulation desk or by phone.

《Returning Materials》

Please return materials to the circulation desk.
Please use the book drop when the library is closed.
(Do NOT return CDs items to the book drop but to the CDs section circulation desk on B1.)

《Material Search》

You can search Japanese or English books, videos, and CDs with OMLIS on each floor according to titles, authors, or themes.
You can switch the language to the English mode so that instructions appear in English.
Some materials in languages other than Japanese or English may be searched with a specific machine or catalog. Please feel free to ask our staff.

《Reservation》

You can make a reservation if materials you search are on loan. We will inform you when they are available.

《Help-Yourself Copying Service》

Only library materials may be photocopied. Personal use only. (Under the Japanese Copyright Law).
Complete an application form (name of the book, page, and your name) at the counter on each floor.
It costs 10 yen per copy (paper size up to A3 is available).

＊Our copying service is based on the Copyright Law, Article 31.

There is a branch every each ward.
We have books,magazines and newspapers in foreign languages.
You can make a reservation if materials you search are on loan. We will inform when they are available.
